Just a positive word for Gunnar after all the problems that cropped up before he left as a sponsor.

I bought a tuned Norc 1911 from Gunnar last April. It ran fine and was very smooth and tight. After 1200-1500 rounds through it during the summer I had it lock up solid on me while shooting in early September. Stripping the gun showed that the barrel link had broken into two pieces. I took a couple of pictures and emailed Gunnar about it that night. He replied the next morning and told me to send it back for a new link to be installed under warranty. No issues, no questions asked.

The gun got to him on a friday and was back in the mail to me on monday afternoon. He replaced the link and cleaned up some rough edges in the area around the link and slide stop and sent it back with no charges to me.

After this experience I have to say that the extra money spent on the tuned 1911 was money well spent and that Gunnar's warranty was exactly as promised. Hopefully he continues to provide the same great service for years to come, as I plan to spend more with Armco as a satisfied customer.

I have a habit of checking his site almost every day, he's a decent dude to deal with.

Yup, me to, almost every day. Have made some great trades with Gunnar. He gives you fair exchange on a trade. He has done tune ups and re-blues for me. All top notch.

I'm glad to hear about all the good experience You had with him.
I'll stay away though. One deal only, one deal too much.
I've also learned something.
Mostly that my very bad experience with him wasn't anything unusual.

There definitely were problems before he pulled out as a sponsor. I think he just got overwhelmed by business volume and things slipped, quite badly for some. He seems to have it much more leveled off now and responds quickly to emails, which wasn't the case in the past.

I've traded and bought from him, and he fixed my loose Shadow rear sight. A gentleman, a fair dealer, I will deal with him again.

He's in the process of retiring. I've had two deals go sour, in the last year. First, he had a used gun "on the way", and put it on hold for me. That's the last I ever heard of it. It never showed up on his website, and I never got a message. He obviously sold it locally. Next, I made an offer to trade a pistol for a hunting rifle. He agreed, I sent all my info and pictures, and never heard from him again. I'm a bit worried that he may have put my pistol into his inventory, and re-registered it. Kind of turned me off of the whole internet gun shopping thing.

I have always had good experiences with Armco.
Traded a couple of old .22 revolvers for a shot gun and a moonclip job on a revolver cylinder. I have purchased mags and parts form him at IPSC mathes. He has even helped me with a repair done at a match that kept me shooting for the rest of the day.

+1gunnar bought a couple of pistols from him, one had issues that he dealt with no probs, a little slow replying to mails, but I know how the store gets busy........

We agreed to a deal about a week ago (trade), and I have not heard back from him. I do not know if he is waiting for me Anyone have any luck when they call him? He hasn't charged my credit card either. I hope it is just the transfer time.

I do not if he is waiting for me, or if he does not want to do the deal (naturally the deal is completely in his favour). Anyone have any luck when they call him? He hasn't charged my credit card either. I hope it is just the transfer time.

On his website he mentions a delay due to changing the shop around and transferring work and equipment to his apprentice. Just send an email and try calling.
