As some of you guys and gals may have heard. There is a new nation wide PRS league this year. The Canadian Rimfire Precision Series is already half way through their season. There are two regular season events left Attention all west coast shooter in Merit BC and Taber Alberta) and on big finale.

If you aren't to sure of what this league is about, its basically shooting steel targets really far away from awkward positions and obstacles with your favorite .22LR rifle. Obviously I'm paraphrasing, but that's the "just" of it.

I've competed in their production division with a Marlin Xt22 and am now looking at building an Open division rig based of of a Savage mkii.

I'm curious what some of you that have competed or will be competing or hope to compete are using for your setup.

Please post up.

Thanks in advance

My rig will be a Savage MkII that started life as a FV... stock didn't fit so a Boyds pro varmint and super comfy to play with. For optics, the Athlon Cronus BTR is pictured but...

I will be running the Athlon Ares BTR at Merritt.

For those interested in the PRS game but shy away because of the very high cost of the gear many suggest you need to use, the rimfire series will fill that niche. ALL of the methods, strategies and techniques are shared between both games except the much more accessible rifle and ammo.

As one of the CRPS series sponsors, I jumped on board because of how well the series was presented, and run. The goal is truly to support grass roots shooting of all budgets, age and skill. Low cost of entry and participation... this doesn't need to be a money pit sport.

Kudos to the RO's, match directors and organisers at the many previous events. I have only heard positive comments on how well these events have been run, and how ALL are made to feel welcome and leave with a smile and a great experience.

Something I am very happy to get behind....

See you all in Merritt

Jerry

PS, if you are interested in the sport, but do not have a rifle, send me a PM or email. Easy enough to share mine... I am not sure when registration will close but I have contact info if needed.

I'm using my 453 American topped with a Leupold VX-2 4-12 CDS. I've gone out to 200 with it pretty easily. It likes SK Standard plus.

The SAPRL event in Med Hat went this weekend - not associated with CRPS though. If you look at the pictures you will see a good number of CZ455s (stock and upgraded), 10/22s, Savage MKIIs, Sakos, etc. The Ruger RPR22 also seemed quite popular.

I missed it but I have a Vudoo 22 coming and will obviously use that in the future.

I've been running my CZ455 Tacticool for the past year with CCI SV and Eley Club. The rifle is sweet, taking me to a 6th place finish in Custer and hopefully a higher placement in Merritt! It's currently got a 6-24x50 Vortex Viper PST FFP EBR-2C on it, but that will probably be replaced in the near future.

Nice setup

I’m waiting for a T1X that I will hopefully have in a Bravo with a Bushnell LRHS 3-12. Currently I’ve got a Savage MKII with the scope I mentioned and a Boyd’s Tacticool stock. Lots of great plinking fun and very good / cheap for practicing PRS barricades.

Did your MKii come with the Boyds stock or did you buy it separately? If so, was it expensive to bring it in?

Running my CZ455 Synthetic with a Falcon Optic ffp setup at the first CRPS this season in March 2018
