I have a 20” 375. Still heavy to carry around hunting. I’m becoming a fan of light rifles, like Kimber mountain ascent. Might be a different goal than you though.
I’ve been looking at a 20” m24/m40 but it might be a wee bit excessive. Looking mostly at bartlein contours. Interested to see some pictures of the bartlein modified light varmint profile.
I gave up on my heavy barrelled 308’s.
Fun at the range but no fun to carry.
I’m currently outfitting a tikka battue(it’s a real fugly bastardization) for hunting and keep the heavy stuff for range use.
He's in Ireland...check his avatar....oddly depite dracponian class based gun laws they can use suppresors...in fact mandatory in some areas/circumstances i believe.
This one is just a sweet and simple Savage hog hunter in .223 with an MDT chassis. The grip is a magpul K. The glass is just temporary until I can upgrade but this one will stay as a budget rifle so it will likely be a vortex DB tactical FFP or equivalent.
Another "sweet and simple" Savage Hog Hunter in 223. MDT chassis and hand grip. Yet to upgrade scope rail and get a muzzle brake. Goal was to put together a target/hunting/SHTF accurate bolt action for as little money as possible. Shoots sub MOA with 68gr Hornady.
