Hey All,

I started work on my first 305 build. So far I haven't done to much yet, other than my research, I added a match grade spring guild and a scope mount(M14.CA). Now I have been scouring the internet looking for various USGI internal components. Also there is so many stocks out there I dont know where to start. My thinking was a nice solid hardwood stock but this is heavy and does not allow for the mounting of rails. But I like the traditional look....

Post some pics and spec of your 305 build and it would be great to know your concept or philosophy behind the build.

I was just visiting Ellwood Epps and discovers that they got a bunch of USGI stocks into their inventory. Great shape but I could not buy a walnut stock since I'm such a fiberglass stock beeeyotch. :)

They also have Criterion barrels in stock but they could be all sold out by the time you get home from work today. Yuk yuk yuk :D

Enjoy the build process !!

Cheers, Barney

Say hello to my Crazy Horse M21A5 EBR type SEI.
Built for me by Smith Enterprise on a Poly Tech receiver.

It has a mix of USGI, Poly Tech, SEI, Sadlak, LaRue, and M14EBR.US parts.
The CQB-16 shown in walnut is currently undergoing a Blackfeather "RS" transformation.

The concept behind my M21A5 EBR build was to have a highly accurate, long range capable modern M14
that I could easily shoot well with full length iron sights, a red dot, or a variable magnification scope...

45ACP, what stock is that in pic #2?? Something like that and a railed handguard is all mine's missing I think. And a match barrel I s'pose...

That stock caught my eye as well, Im much more experienced with AR style rifles and a stock like that would just feel right, I think!

You cant go wrong with any stock really, as long as it works for you, I personally tho am a fan of the classic walnut, tho not opposed to a USGI fiberglass one, maybe on a future build. As far as my build went I wanted it too look as original as possible.

I am such a fan of the classic look that even the AR had to be old school, but thats just me, good luck on your build and when its all said n done throw some pics up too.

I am waiting on a color matching FDE "LSP" to make the trip south.

Here's my build. It's the same rifle. I plan to use it with the red dot. But I have the scope on it right now to help with load development.
