Show off your 300 AAC rifles!

Oh i was using proper methods. Im a pipefitter by trade and know about torquing threaded connections all too well. The threads on an upper are what 7/8-1" in diameter. 30-80ft/lbs is barely anything on a thread that large. Hence why its now being sent to Core15 for warranty because of their mistake of either over torquing the nut or using thread sealant.

With the proper tooling it is virtually impossible to damage the upper. The problem is when you try to clamp or hold the upper to undo the barrel nut. If I were CORE, Id tell you to go pound sand. But that's just me. Hopefully they will be nicer about you wrecking your own rifle.

Not that i plan on doing this anytime soon, but when you say proper tooling do you mean the vice clamp (action block), ARMORERS WRENCH, and a vice.

I have an action clamp but don't use it anymore as there is a much better tool which isolates the upper from any torque because it interfaces directly with the barrel extension. With that tool it is virtually impossible to damage or twist the upper receiver.

Which tool would that be and where can i get one :)

Well. I guess im lucky Core15 has a No BS warranty and like i said the torque spec is nothing and should of came off like nothing. So. We'll see what happens

Yep, hopefully you will get a new upper and can chaulk this up as a learning experience.

Well to be honest I didnt expect anything from Core. But when i found threadlocker on the flash hider threads I figured I'd email them. I fully expected to spend another $180 on a stripped upper. But they said that they have a no BS warranty and to send them the complete upper, barrel, bolt and charge handle. Then emailed me a prepaid UPS shipping label. So we will find out whether it was my fault or theirs that the upper cracked. Like i said. The barrel nut is grossly over torqued or threadlocked

Well Core Followed through. Was a pain in the ass from the Canadian Warranty retailer. But its finally here. Just wish this chitty weather would go away

308 stopping power with all the advantages of an AR platform and the potential to have 30rnd mags. I don't think this is a fad. I think it the way forward.

Yea. A brand new 16" upper. I put a Hera Arms 15" rail on it. AAC 51t Brake and magpul ACS stock

And 300Blk isnt a fad. Its just not redially available because of the US' retarded demand for 556. You also have Rem700 and H&R options for 300blk also so it can be used for hunting/varmit

Isn't this fad over yet?

Yeah, a "fad" that has been going on for more than 25 years now.

I agree. Consider that John Noveski had as his personal rifle a 300 BLK when he could have anything he wanted.

Nice rifle Death, also mossberg mvp will also have 300 blackout version.

I ordered at 51T AAC few days back and waiting for xb5 to be fixed so will try both on my 300 blk 9" barrel

I tried 220gn on 9" pistol length gas and it cycled but didnt lock back bolt with 11.3gr of A1680, probably need 11.5gn and a chrono to check.

Well its a nice niche round -- but your looking at a different color of sky if you think a .300BK has the same terminal affect of a 762NATO round.

Admittedly I am dumbfounded by the Canadian interest in this cartridge, me I like it cause I can run suppressed subsonics. I can see Suputin's interest as he has been into this sort of stuff way before Robert Silvers.
Other than the price of ammo, its quickly eclipsing my Suppressed 11.5" gun as a go to gun.
