Show off your Browning Superposed

It's all in the details. Here is a 1930-dated Superposed in 12, marked Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre, made before the first shipments of Superposed were sent to Browning in the USA. The less-than-500 serial number puts it in the first two weeks of production. While only a 'field grade', I like the small engraving flourishes, like the acanthus-leaf spray on top of the action.

While I used to own a Browning Broadway Superposed, a pair of Funcken engraved Pointer Grades, a Pigeon grade & even a Diana, all in 12 bore, all I have left in Browning arms really doesn't fit in this thread; just a Grade VI the Missus bought for me for a birthday present a number of years agoGrade VI cased 1.jpg

You have owned some fine Superposed's, James.
Is that a Citori in the pic? I have owned a number of Citori's and they are a remarkable gun.

I ended up with this one in my accumulation some years back due to my FN obsession!
I believe its 1955 dated?
Its been well used but still nice and tight, a joy to shoot.
Appreciate any opinion on current value.

I haven’t posted pics in awhile, but now I am subject to size or number of pic limits ???
Did I miss an announcement? Used to be able to post as many pics as I wanted to by linking to Imjur.

Wow, 1 picture only if I don’t upgrade my membership ?
I guess you all won’t see any of the other pics of this or any of the other Superposed I own.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

You are correct, it is a 1955 manufacture date, as the serial number range for that year of production is listed as approximately serial numbers 43001 to 48000.

As to valuation, these older Browning grade 1 standard weight model superposed don't tend to bring the money they use to. People looking for a shooter type gun vs a collector piece all want screw in chokes to use steel shot these days to increase the versatility of the gun.

Based on a subjective view of the condition of your shotgun using only the photos, its value would be approximately between $1,000 to $1,400.
