Show off your Browning Superposed

Here is a 20 ga Browning Superposed Superlight made in the 70's. There were not a lot of Superlights made in the short time they were offered (approx '69-'76). They had straight (English) stocks and commonly had 26" barrels ( a very few had 28" barrels). This gun has a vent rib but most 12 gauges had solid ribs. I have never heard of a Superlight having salt wood but I'm sure there were some. This 20 ga weighed 6 lbs and handled well in the field. As a part of my down sizing program, it has found a new custodian.

The Superlights were made in 12 and 20 ga. There may have been a few made in 28 and 410 but they would be special order and very scarce.
The Superlights (Browning labeled them Superlites) were not very popular at the time. The Superposed's became quite expensive due to inflationary pressures which ultimately resulted in Browning building Citoris in Japan.
I purchased my 20 ga Superlite from the original owner who was lucky enough to have his Dealer find it in Browning's warehouse in Montreal---it was the last they had as they had been out of production for several years.

Thought I would share this gun with you as it is rather rare. It is a 12 ga Superlite in Midas grade. I got it from an estate---it was new in the original cardboard box. To make it even rarer it has 28" barrels---almost all Superlites had 26" barrels but a few, very few, were special ordered with 28" barrels. It was such a treasure that I never fired the gun and only assembled it to take some pics.

Has anyone seen or owned a field grade Superpose in 410cal in Canada?
Would be the ultimate Partridge gun here in Thunder Bay choked F/F or F/M. Love the 410, as I reload ,but not much quality older 0/U guns come up for sale period.

I've handled that 20 gauge of Claudio's and can say that it is without a doubt the best looking Superposed I've ever laid eyes on. Others may have much more engraving but that whole gun pops!

No doubt Browning made some beauties... They were not cheap at the time but I'll bet there are more than a few of us, wish we had bought a few back then. That damn hind sight...
