Red Deer Shooting Center did an outstanding 2-tone Black and Sig Dark Grey Cera-kote job on my STI M1911A1 5" Single-Stack Tactical:

My Lewis Machine & Tool Modular Weapon System in .308 and 6.5 CM came Bronze Cera-Koted from the factory as a Limited Edition model. According to Questar at the time it was the only one in Canada, FWIW. A terrific shooter!

Several years ago I had my rifle that was given to me by my grandfather redressed = it is a built in the spring of 1958 Husqvarna 3000 chambered in 270 Wby I was born just over a year after it was built.

One day while holding the rifle I realized that I wear new modern clothes while out hunting so decided it was time for this old beast to get a modern outfit as well.

Purchased a new black Sako Hunter model McMillan stock, new scope bases and a like new Leupold VX2 4-12x40mm LR scope off the EE before mounting the scope I shipped the entire rifle to Hope Cerakote in Hope BC.

I had Frank Cerakote the stock OD green and the barreled action minus the bolt Cerakoted satin black, my old rifle is now a super cool weather resistant combo I shot my first moose, first several deer and biggest bodied mule deer with this rifle.

I like Cerakote and similar coatings for competition guns or heavily hunted units in wet conditions.
My 870 wears ArmaCoat which has held up fine for 10+ yrs now.:)

I had my stainless T3 Cerakoted 3 years ago ish' and I have been very happy with it. I can't recall the exact colour, but I like the look of it. Prior to coating, I would see faint rust stains develop after rainy day hunts. It would wipe off easy enough, but with the Cerakote, it's been tough as nails. Lots of cleaning and use with it and it's held up very well. I would do it again in a heartbeat

Do you have a pic of this rifle? I'd like to see it! :)

My take is Cerakote for metal and Duracoat for composites. like this example,

In the meantime we moved away from Cerakote and only use Duracoat for all.
