No problems yet. The paint gets beat up looking way before heat becomes and issue.
Yes, and there are paints and other coatings that will stand up for longer than Krylon, but considering how easy it is to use and the cost, it's a good balance. I don't do camo, just cover black plastic with a single colour (olive green, sand or brown) and touch up as required.

Can't get much more red neck than that lol!Haven't done any of my guns but I did give my old truck the krylon treatment
Needs more mudflap..... and a set of those testicles hanging off the trailer hitch....

I`ve posted this before. Stevens 200, .243. Still holding after five years.
Buddy and I built this duck boat around the same time. Used Krylon rattle cans again. Does`nt stick to epoxy very well. Lesson learned.

Not really camo but it sorta looks it some angles ya look at it.
Raddle canned the Stevens 200 yesterday, barrel was rusted. Used high temp paint on berrel and camo on stock and scope.
How's it hold up on the barrel? Any problems with heat.
Did you de-rust the barrel first?

Primed it white then used a sandstone textured paint. Few coats of that then krylon webbing paint first time I used the webbing paint so it is on a bit thicker then I would have liked but it turned out alright.
If applied first it holds up quite well, the paint will wear before it comes off which you can see if you zoom in on the second picture. This is after a lot of handling with a clear coat finish. Makes a world of difference for grip.
