Show off your ***diy krylon camo guns ***

This is the first rifle I restored, Cooey 64B. It was found in an old shed covered inside and out with rust. I soaked it in WD-40 for a day then stripped it down and hand polished every part, then a Cerama-Coated everything metal. Now it has a chopped stock for the kids and a red-dot sight and its a joy to shoot! My son who was 4 at the time had no problems shooting it with the bipod and red-dot.

Wow some very impressive work done here! Mine is not quite as pretty but works for the purpose.

I bought all the krypton camo ones and after priming and doing a coat of olive I didn't really like it so blasted it with the stone stuff as above and that did the trick, 3 coats of matte clear overtop. Like the texture and color.

A little bored this morning, so did another one the same way. :)

Nice job! That's what I should have done. It looks great and probably a lot less labour intensive. I used a honeycomb design I found off the internet and printed it out on adhesive paper (label maker paper). Then I took an exacto knife and cut out all the honeycomb patterns and stuck it to my shotgun and spray painted over it. Won't be doing that again though, haha.

not camo, but here's my flamer vanguard stock....ruined the paint job with a finger smudge on the satin clear coat, and more gloss than I expected...kinda wish I left it flat, might try a light buffing with some 0000 steel wool

I like the true matte clear coat if you can find it, I find satin a little shiny also.

This would make awesome waterfowl camo!

Thanks lol, that was what I was going for. I did another one with a more appropriate "dead grass" colour but neglected to take pics before I sold it. I've experimented with many different paints, colours, masking materials, etc but nature provides the best materials. The top gun (Mossberg 20ga) that you are looking at was done using just long grass for mask. The middle one is a cut down cooey 12ga and Fern leaves were used on that one. The bottom gun is a Crossman 60 22cal pellet gun I painted using Cedar bows as depicted in the step by step photos.

I've done a few winter themes as well, sticks and twigs give me the most appealing camo "look". I'll see what other pics I have on the home computer.
