"bump!"

OK, here's mine. Nothing special, but I figured this thread needed a 'bimp' and the Machman was goading me to put a pic of mine on here, so...
It is a "590". The OEM stock was a "Speed Feed". I liked the way it fed me the four extra shells, but the LoP was too long, and not at all 'slug friendly'. Things improved immensely with the addition of the SGA stock--I'm running it with one shim, and the recoil is much more manageable. I did end up dremeling a bit of the opening so the (metal) trigger assembly can easily slide in and out (once it gets past those two silly bars) so no more need to access the stock bolt to clean the innards. Jumbo Safety switch;
STI heat shield.

When I tried to order a Mossy heat shield the supplier told me it'd be a "special order". OK, I wasn't expecting it for quite a while so, when I saw the ATI one at Cabelas, I brought it home and popped it on instead. I've started to get used to its 'Starwarzzy' look, and there are those bonus mini-pici-rails up at the front. So life is purty good, eh? Yesterday I got an email: "Your Mossberg Heat Shield has been shipped!" Oh, joy. Well, I like having optional choices to make. it's all good!

Nothing special, just an 870 Tac with some Magpul stuff on it. Used it in my first gun comp about a month ago....lol, I didn't do so well, but that was due to lack of skill rather than poor equipment.

love it...

I upgraded the lower receiver to a Tooth and Nail SAS forged aluminum receiver, new trigger group, down to 4 lbs trigger pull. With the new receiver you can change grips and stock to any AR-15 furniture, AR-15 Safety and new breacher choke and charging handle. Fab Defence GL butt stock

This is pretty much what I'm going for with a 20" A1 I just bought. Does the SGA work good with the GRS or could it use a riser? I just had a bead on my 14" so no riser needed but my 20 has GRS.

So far, so good...

Hi, Supe!
I've only got about 50 rounds thru with this current setup, and YES, the placement of the GRS feels just a bit high with the SGA the way it is now. I mean the comb may be a tadder two low for my taste, so I'd like to try one of those optional risers to improve my cheek weld.
One other note on fitting the SGA--Using the correct number of shims under the buttpad is critical to your individual body style. I'm running this with just one now, and that LOP is working OK for me, but my apey-armed friend tried it and nearly broke is nose, ha-ha. He'd need at least three shims. I'm going to try running two at our next outing.
I like being able to access the thumb safety, and I can easily work the action release tab with my middle finger, yet the SGA offers me a "semi-pistol grip".
Cheers!

Oh, ps on the cheek risers: Seems like you choose between two sets of two which gives you a range from
'low-med' to 'high-high'. I need ~1/2", so I'll try the 'medium' set: ('low-med' to 'med-med').
Or I'll just order them all in case my pencil-necked other friend wants a try....

My Grandfather's 1928 nickel-steel Winchester Model 12. Bought new and passed down to me. It has since been refurbished, re-blued to a nice deep purple/blue. variable choke added. Still shoot it regularly.

My uninstallable heat shield...?

Post a photo of your new heat-shield on your futuristic trench gun!

What, you mean my new new heat-shield? The one I just got from Brownells yesterday? The one that didn't have the installation
kit or spacer or instructions with it? Sure, I can show you pics of that, but they'll be pretty boring/frustrating depending on your hopes and dreams of the future. I did send them a wire informing them of their oversight, so I'm sure those essential "extras" will be along on the next plane...

I'm in the same boat. Just noticed that you have to buy the mounting kit separately. Or are you getting it from them gratis?

"Oh. Did you want that, TOO?!?!"

IDK! Is this the way of the world in 2016??
I thought that it was just HARLEY-DAVIDSON that pulled that kind of shyte--
I ordered a luggage rack from them and that's all that came--none of the essential nuts and bolts, just the rack. When I called their parts department the guy says, "Oh...Did you want the Installation Kit for the rack, too?" "No, I just so happen to have a drawer full of proprietary luggage rack installation fittings already... OF COURSE I WANT THE INSTALLATION "KIT", YOU IDIOT!":runaway:
FEH! Now I have to re-order and pay shipping for a few bolts and a plastic spacer?? IDKWTF-- The supplier has not responded to my email (Nice doing business with you, BROWNELLS). That's BAD.

Rant ends. Now back to the PICs!
