First photo, my 700 Mountain SS in .308 with Magpul DBM. Just over 7.5 lbs, perfect for hunting.
Second, my 700 5R Gen 2 in .308 in a Magpul 700 stock. Still regret getting it out of that stock.
Third, the same 700 5R in a McMillan A5 with Nightforce scope. .3 MOA rifle, love it.
A bump in the thread... and I could use a little advice.
After 1 year (ish) I've finally got this beauty the way I want it. I wanted a precision rifle that i could hunt with, to make a long story short. I also didn't want to spend 7k + ...
This is what I've come up with.
Remington 700 police 308 in factory hs precision stock
Action trued and 26" barrel cut to 20" and fluted (A big thanks to precision arms for that magic)
Timney trigger
Harris lightweight bipod
Leupold rail
Burris rings (BIG fan of single screw rings)
Nightforce shv 5-20×56 moar reticle
And I'm done. Almost.
I'm sending it out for cerakote and for the last 2 months I've been trying to decide whether I should get a camo pattern or all black? I can't decide if the pattern will end up looking tacky? This is a hunting and range rifle so I won't be putting a mag conversion on. I like the floor plate.
