Most of the people that badmouth them are the type that thinks that no rifle that haven't ben fielded by a country military or if the rifle is not capable of .5 moa then its a junk gun that is unproven and will surely fall apart in your safe.
Some don't like the ergonomics of the rifle, to that well faire enough; if you shot 4000 rouds a year true a ar15 for the last 10 years then yeah you will hate the rfb ergoes. I got a ar and I prefer the feel of the rfb ( minus the mag release)
Its all subjective, plus the only non restricted rifle in 308 that has better ergonomics is the xcr.
