Show us your BXP Phoenix...(MAC-10's)

It is classed as a carbine I think, I wish I still had the FRT for it.
Anyway, it is five shot only as it takes it's own mag and not a readily available mag from a pistol (like a Storm or PC9).

THIS is a MAC10....note the subtle differences and substantially 'cooler' appearance

The title says it all BXP Phoenix

The BXP submachine gun was developed in the mid-1980s by the South African company Mechem as an improved version of the American-made Ingram Mac-10 submachine gun, and brought into production in 1988. The weapon was intended for use by military and police forces in South Africa, where international sanctions had caused a weapons shortage.

There is a company in South Africa, Continental Technology, that manufactures civilian legal versions of these. A stockless pistol, shortbarreled carbine with folding stock, and 16'" barreled carbine.

They are different from the company making the select fire version. Like most other things in South Africa, their website doesn't work properly. These pictures are from the cached version.

If a dealer "could" work something out with them and get a few here they would sell like hotcakes... especially at <$1000.

I'd love to take one to the club to see the expressions on people's faces... "Uhhh is that thing legal?!?"

Mine is the one in the bottom picture.:D
When they were imported into Canada by United Shooting Sports they were around $1500 and from remebering how often they were advertised I would say they were not hot sellers at all. That is why only 11 made it into Canada.

At the price united was charging its no matter why. Once you brake the 800$ barrier for a 5 shot pistol I dont exactly go for my wallet.

Agreed, I'd just assume get the Polish made UZI (BP99?) if I had money to burn.
$1000 or less is my limit for any 5rnd, restricted, pistol type weapon.

Well the U.S made ones were craptastic peices of kit. :runaway: Never heard of them being made in SA but I'm sure you can only polish a turd so much. They were made cheaply and shoot the same. Shoot it and see if it's any good. If may have some collecter interest as a saturday night special and 70/80 gangster gun but even if we could get it in FA it would still be at the bottom of my list.

Yep me no like.;)

How would you know? You ever handle or fire one? I didn't think so.

It is a well built (overbuilt) gun, it is very heavy. It is about as accurate as my BRS99 was. It is better built than a MAC. And it is THE ONLY gun in Canada that looks like a MAC and is restricted.;)

Yep, me like!:D
