i think its this generation of shooter. i am not old or anything but it seems like if you look at the posts and the EE every one wants a new shiny pistol. every asks what gun should i buy and wants the newest thing thinking it will make them a better shooter then pays $900 for stock pistol.
no one builds anymore or gos to a show and sees a beat up pistol for $150 and fixes it up. they just want some one to tell them what to get that is the 'best' thinking that will make them cool and a really good shooter.

working on guns is fun.

That's becouse people want $650 for that $150 beat up gun

you can get a 1911 frame from marstar for $139. my gun for the slide frame and barrel cost $325. you need to look around. lots of sleepers out there.

Started with a stripped new SAM Officers frame.
Colt Commander slide and barrel.
Colt trigger/hammer/sear

Next step will be better sights.

Only hiccup is the slight gap between the dust cover and slide...SAM cuts their compact frame a tad shorter than Colt does :(

Shoots well.
At the end of it all it won't be dramatically cheaper than a already completed version from a manufacturer....I wanted to mate an Officers frame with Commander slide for a while...I think it is the best of both of those platforms when combined.....
Alas it won't see any "carry" outside of the range .....which is where it would shine of course.

fookme....can't get images uploaded...
Anyone help if I email em??
