This is one we just put together at the shop.
It has 16.5" Daniel Defence 1:7 chrome lined barrel, colt flat top upper and Magpul UBR stock all on an AT15 billet receiver. Sights are Midwest Ind and YHM.
Needs more midlength.

Either that, or spending mucho $ on gucci parts for a rifle that doesn't have a single impact mark on the deflector.
There is the possibility that these photographs were taken right after the owners built or purchased their rifles, that might explain why they show no sign of usage.

Carbonrod, I see 3 deflectors in this thread. One "we just put together", one with a burris scope and the HK/Nightforce which I'm going to go out on a limb and assume is the one you consider to be "Gucci". Here's another shot of the deflector:

Here's the gas piston after the last 1000 rounds I put through it. It will eventually be silver again after a long solvent soak and a vigorous toothbrushing:

That carbon comes off really quickly with a odorless mineral spirit/breakfree bath. Each has their own way though of course.

You lot can be frustrating. You rag on people for having parts and equipment that don't meet your standards, and then you rag on people for having stuff that's decent.

Would be a nice rifle except the handrail is way to short. Looks pretty goofy.
No. I rag on people that don't use their toys.
I don't give a rats a$$ what you run. I'd like everyone in Canada to own a +10K rifle, but that isn't going to happen, so I am as tickled pink about the guy who runs a box stock norc and stays in the hobby. I have done both for what its worth. If, however, everyone buys stuff to hide in their closet, the hobby will die off soon.
