Holy ####! Now that's a nice collection! Just need some snubbies and u got it all.

Well, here is my one and only revolver, a 1st Generation Colt Artillery dated to 1882. It has been restored, so its collectors value has been wiped out. It is chambered in 45 Schofield and provides a lot of fun shooting.

That's a great looking blaster Kirk - you sure have been through a few of those "antiques" haven't you???
That is the truth. I started off going in the direction of collectable old west guns but they were so valuable, I felt guilty everytime I'd pull the trigger or strap it on in the bush, for fear I'd put some scuff or ding into it and hurt the value. I like shooting them, so I eventually decided to sell the others and get this rebuilt Colt. It looks great and, mechanically, it is like it just left the factory ... tight with no end play and tight cylinder to throat gap. Now I can shoot it to my heart's content.

As for my earlier, more valuable sixguns, one was an original S&W Schofield that was used by the US Cavalry in the Apache wars in the mid 1870's. The other was an original S&W 2nd Model American chambered in 44 Russian and shipped in 1873. It was a beauty and I still feel bad everytime I think of it, for selling it. It was a classic old west sixgun and came from the American southwest. Here are photos of those two classic original sixguns .... the first is the Schofield and the second is the 2nd Model American ..

That 2nd Model American, with its 8" barrel was the only one that I've owned that you could just whip it out of the holster and fire from chest level and the bullet would hit right were you were looking. None of my other pistols have ever instinctively pointed like that. I think it was that 8" barrel acting like a subconscious sight of sorts. Anyway, it's gone now and I grieve for having been so stupid as to sell it, but then I look at my Colt and I'm comforted.

Well since we're posting some antiques and replicas here's a picture I put together in a casual moment of a couple of older 1860 clones after I got the pair at a gun show.
