Show us your SMLE's

Here's one that I used as a model when selling the tripod. I took the picture quite a while back, but I think it is an Enfield from 1918, all matching. The bayonet is a little old for this rifle, but damn it looks cool!

Here is an NRF rifle that has been converted to a target rifle by Alex Martin of Glasgow.

Here is a pair of Aussie's. Top is an unissued No 1 Mk III* from 1942. The bottom is a No 1 Mk III, complete with cut off and volley sights that later had the "H" heavy barrel installed (probably for target shooting).

I have a few more but no photos or time to take them.

Thanks for the nice SMLE's everybody.

The H barrel was for target use and some got service use when the Australian military called on the shooting assocations/clubs to help out with donations of rifles during a shortage of rifles during the war years, those ones should have military property marks on the rifle.

Agreed, what a beauty!

I should take a few pics - not many showpieces here, nothing that compares with the stars in this thread but I do like this No1Mk3 I desporterized earlier this year.

Lou, you did a fine job on that one for sure, what about your other SMLE's that you showed me when I visited you last year, do you still have those too?

Geez that's impressive mate. You did a nice job on that 1915. Did you find the Australian marked parts you were looking for?

Don't rely on your Australian supplier:)

No but then i haven't been actively searching, it will never be the real deal so will just let them find me :)

The Lithgows look good. Love to see more close up photos some time.

My one also has the same high gloss finish but has already been refinished, it looks like it was a range use rifle (stock was glass bedded) by a previous owner, shoots real nice too. I think that we have the only two 1956 made Faz non rebuilt No.4 Mk.2's that I can find any info on.

I think you're right- I've never seen one other than mine. There ought to be 8 to 10 thousand of them out there... but where?

5THBATT - thanks for sharing...and sharing..and sharing some more. Very impressive.

Here's the before and after for the 1919 Lithgow (post #11). I think it looks much better now.

More of a No.4 collector but here a few of the my SMLE highlights.
