Love my "T"-series ('68). One of my Never Sells….

Nice! I like the wrap around grips. Am I correct in assuming they are an "add on"? I've seen them on later model BHP's but I don't recall them on a T series. I know they came on the Practical and maybe the Silver Chrome?

sailor723...here's a pic of the OEM grips. I find the wood too slippery and thin for my liking. The Pacmayr grips don't look the greatest but fills my hands well.
I've since removed the backstrap. Found it too rough and made the HP too girthy.

I love the look of the wood grips but I can understand how the wrap around could be more comfortable to shoot. I shot a Colt .357 with aggressively checkered OEM wood stocks a couple of nights ago. After less than 25 rounds I had a red, sore spot on my palm at the base of my thumb. Either way....nice BHP

I have a question maybe one of you hi power guys could answer; I just bought an immaculate 1972 hi-power that looks like it may have never been fired. took it out and let off some 30 rounds and when I took it down noticed that the spring guide had caved in at the front of the loop that the take down lever passes through; I straightened it out (round) and put another 10 rounds through and when I took it down, it was caved in again. I straightened it out again and this time it fractured right at the leading face....Need a new part but what am I doing wrong? I'm pretty sure that I'm putting it in the right way and the only thing I can really think of is that the pin on the take down lever that passes through the loop is too small, but I don't know how that could be since it all seems to be original parts. Don't want to highjack the thread but any thoughts?

Looking at this again, it doesn't seem like it is going in the wrong way; the loop part of the guide rod (the part that gets crushed) is actually slightly off-set of center with the result that if I put it in the other way, the whole unit is slightly off-set, the angle of the rod and return spring look wrong (angling into the dust cover instead of being nice and straight / parallel to the barrel), plus, when I put it in the original way, the indent in the pin on the take-down lever obviously lines up with the spring loaded ball in the loop of the guide rod. Conclusion, it has to be going in the right way and I still need to figure out why it's being damaged. I'm going to order 2 new take-down pins and try again. If anyone has any other ideas, I would love to hear them.
Thanks.

This confirms that I have always had it in the correct way....Still confused. The gun itself appears to be almost unfired and possibly only factory fired (until I got it); since the loop is fractured, I am ordering a couple of new guide rods and maybe the original is just a factory deficient and buggered from the go...

Bought my Canuck at SFRC. Only 250 rounds though it so far. Shoots any thing I have put in it, and is very accurate.(If I do my part)
I really like it.
