Just built!
Nice bench Pete!
I just finished this:
I was sick of the little space I was stuck in up against the wall and building a new bench there wouldn't have given me any better space. So when my buddy Bill offered up some help with a welded bench I took it. Added 2 x 3/4 inch plywood to the top, bottom sheet is regular and the top is an oak sheet. This thing does not move at all! There's also a shelf on the bottom that I haven't painted yet for storage of the larger items. 3 layers of paint and 2 spray coats if Rustolium AntiSlip spray, which makes a soft, non-rolling surface on the top. We built bases for all the presses as I find that I need them raised up so that my back doesn't hurt when loading. So the bench is 4 inches higher than my old desk station, plus the presses are on 4 inch lifts themselves. The Coax needed something special to prevent having to cut a hole in the table, and now I'm working just a bit under eye level. Very comfortable. That stand is all steel, from leftovers from the table. The Load All 2 I use quite a bit so I built an oak block, slapped another inch thick piece on the bottom , dremelled out a primer tray, as I don't like the autofeed for it, and figured I may as well cut in a place to store the brass resizer ring.
I also wired in 7 outlets and a master switch for the bench so I'm not buggering around with plugging crap in anymore, and I've got 3 Hornady LockNLoad strip lights coming for the presses that I'll drill up from the bottom and wire in nice so there's no messing with wires in the way.
Overall, very happy and satisfied with building the whole thing the way I wanted.
And, the open corner is where a Dillon 650 for my .40/10mm will go. I currently have a LoadMaster, and it works very well, but I just want to try this Dillon thing people jibber-jabber on about. Anyone know if I'd just be happy with a Square Deal?
One other thing, A big shout out to my buddy Bill, who helped, instructed and taught me how to do a lot of new skills to build this, right down to the wiring. Couldn't have got close without him!
