Show your reloading benches

I just knocked this together today. I thought what the heck, get out of the garage and into the rec room.

Still needs some work but I think I'm getting there. Notice the blue pine beetle wood? I know the colour will fade but I'll like it while it lasts, reminds me of moose hunting.

Nice pics guys, now I don't feel so bad with the small corner of my hobby room. I need more shelving in mine. Love the canadian tire benchs, had that in my head to do, missed the sale on the benchs though, maybe towards summer.

For the top and shelf I bought a piece of 4'X8' 1/2" fir good one side plywood. The rest was made out of 6 8' 2X4's.

I cut 2 tops and glued them back to back so I have 2 good surfaces in case I ruin one with a spill or something. I can just flip the bench top over. It's 1" and sturdy.

The rest I used for the bottom shelf. I still have enough left over to make a shelf down the road or bolt my trimmers to or something. One thing extra I did with the left over 2X4 was to screw it under the top. Didn't need it but what the hell.

The cost for the plywood, 2X4's, glue and screws was $56 and it took about 3 hours and you could park your truck on it. If I feel like it later I might stain it but why? It's a work bench.

One alteration I made was to make it 39" high so I don't have to stoop over when I'm loading because that kills my back. That's the benefit of building your own....make it how you like it.

Exactly! Yours is 39" and mine is 42", building your own is the way to go if you want it to meet your needs and comfort requirements.
 
This is my setup at the moment. Had to keep it semi compact as my man room has to accommodate my desktop pc, bookshelf, guns and ammo storage as well as my loading bench. I'm kind of worried about tumbling in this room as I would like to keep the dust to a minimum. Any suggestions as to what I could do assuming that I will be using this room? I'm thinking maybe a box with a few case fans and some filters of some kind. I picked up the bench ( http://www.whalenstorage.com/catego...oup/Work Benches/Mobile Industrial Work Bench ) at costco a couple months ago, found someone this past week to cut the 1/8" steel plate to reinforce the table top and 1/2" plate to mate my lee single stage to the strong mount in the picture. With this setup, when I get the xl650 I'm planning on picking up later this spring, I can switch between the single stage and the dillon simply by unbolting the strong mounts. I also cut a piece of 3/4" plywood to fit over the lower shelf in order to be able to put several hundred pounds of brass on it. Now I just need to bullets/primers and powder to match!

Demonical, you're getting a little low on powder aren't ya? And BTW, that's the only beer I drink, although its pretty rare for me to drink lol.

Finally got some mild weather so I could get in the barn to finish my bench. This started as an old bench they were throwing away at work. It was a hard looking old thing with rusted out galvanized sheething covering on top, and greasy, worn off scratched up paint.....it looked like hell,,,,but when we carried it out side I noticed how heavy it was and after takeing a closer look at it I noticed it was made of hard wood,,,4x4 legs, 2x6 sides, and the top is consructed of 1.5x2 strips on edge, laminated together,,, to me it had "reload bench" written all over it. So over the winter with some sanding, painting, and some aluminium I refinished it and added a shelf. This thing is heavy and will make a real sturdy bench to work on. All I have to do now is move it in the house and add a light to it.
