Some great guns in this thread. In particular that 20 ga. flintlock shown earlier is gorgeous.

Acquired this off the EE a couple years ago. Was told it was a "C" grade custom from the Remington custom shop but the serial number says its a regular ol' 700 in 270. Refinished the metal with armacoat and stock in tung oil. Shined up pretty well.

I hope you worked that out with the seller. I would have been very unsatisfied. Nice wood though.

I was a little pissed when I found out but I knew when I bought it the price was way to cheap too be from the custom shop. I chose to roll the dice anyway. By the time I got around to checking with remington the gun was already torn down and being re-crowned. I decided to give the seller the benefit of the doubt.

As a plus it shoots almost as well as some customs I've had built. I suppose it could have worked out worse.
