I like that wood a lot!

Here is my addition. A custom Anschutz 1712 silhouette sporter and a Beretta 687 EELL diamond pigeon sporting. Both stocks have had work done by Klaus Hiptmayer. The Beretta had a full strip to remove the original berretta finish and was then given a hand rubbed polish plus its fitted. The Anshcutz much the same but more modifications like ebony grip cap, fore end and butt plate spacer etc.

Mannlicher–Schönauer Model 1903 6.5x54 with factory special order wood.
(Most of the M-S production had remarkably bland wood.)

Favorite might be a disappointment to some...I have rifles with nice wood, but this old HVA '98 in 8mm is my favorite. Very expensive $300 rifle lol, but it's the stock and balance, love the wide forend, and narrow grip, just carries and points great, and it shoots very well, much better then the price suggests.

Love it.

Living out the last ten years of his life in French Polynesia, the famous artist Paul Gauguin (1848 – 1903) hunted feral pigs with his Winchester. Norwegian adventurer and ethnologist Thor Heyerdahl found the rifle in the 1930's. When a French colonial bureaucrat confiscated the rifle, Heyerdahl removed the walnut buttstock, with its valuable Gauguin wood carving. It is in the collection of the Kon-Tiki museum in Oslo, Norway. (Thor Heyerdahl, Fatu-Hiva, 1974, pp. 168-169) Gauguin's paintings and sculpture sell for millions of dollars. An 1892 painting of his became the world's third-most expensive artwork when it was sold to Qatar for $210 million in 2014.

This rifle both my dad and myself took our first moose with, nearly 40 years apart. A .280 Rem built off a Brno ZG47 (excuse the bad finish job, was my first finish job, about 20 years ago)
