Showoff your SHORTY 12G SHOTTY (14" or under and Mods)!

Shockwave Technologies Raptor Grip. Unsure who has it in stock... but that's what it is. Makes a 14" 590A1 just over 26" (NR). Put the pathetic Mossy PG on and it's under 26" (Restricted), plus it's ergonomics are terrible.

Thanks for all the replies. Yeah i discovered that myself, thankfully before ordering a regular pistol grip.

Regular pistol grips will rattle your fingers and wrist something awful. I put on the Hogue overmolded grip on my 18.5" Roadblocker, it's much better than the original but definitely isn't long enough to make a 14" NR, you need the birdshead grip. I've seen pics of guys who shaped a regular wood buttstock into a birdshead as well.

It says $27 US on Ebay, unsure what shipping to Canada would be. Might have to contact them as it's not an option on their auction.

Everybody is correct. The 14" mossberg is wearing a shockwave grip. I bought it direct from shockwave on eBay Canada... I think it was less than $40 to my door.
It's fun for shooting cans but that's about it... I wouldn't use it for any real work. Still looks cool and is fun :)

I think the Shockwave looks very cool, but its just not practical or enjoyable to shoot for me.
Anyone think of stipling one for better grip?

Mel Gibson didn't mind a shorty:

"Bullitt" car chase with the a short barreled shotgun also made them very popular (imfdb says it's a cutdown 1897):

anybody else been thinking about hacking a Magpul stock into a birds head? not very usefull I know, but the grip angle and the bolt location had me thinking as soon as I picked one up... pricey bubba project tho.

I wouldn't... if you want to make one of those, do it to a wood stock.

That would simply turn it into more of a pistol grip than birds head IMO...and you can just buy a pistol grip instead of doing a hack job. You would weaken the whole integrity of the stock too by having the edges exposed after a cut.

I actually thought about it, the ergo's are excellent on the Magpul, I just didn't have an extra one to sacrifice for a range toy

the angle is not the same as a pistol grip at all, and I think the stock is full considering where the bolt is so it wouldn't be any weaker than the full stock IMHO.
too short for my 12.5" tho ):

14" Rem 870P in progress

After much searching I have found a new Remington 14" Police barrel with low profile XS rifle sights.
I am very impressed with the ergonomics of the SGA stock, thanks to others on this thread for suggesting it.

I experimented with various mounts and locations for a light, and finally decided on this:

I like being able to remove the light when it is not required, and in this position it lights up the target and the front sight.

Cheers
