Showoff your SHORTY 12G SHOTTY (14" or under and Mods)!

A new addition to the stable? I've been considering one of those myself.
Yes, another Escort. They are great guns. Real comfortable to me too.

Thought about that one and as usual .... Thought too long and it sold. What do you think of the marine finish?
The marine finish top notch. I have a longer 18.5" one with the Optima name as well. The marine in 14" is hard to come by now so I picked it up based on want rather than necessity.

Got an M87 Ithaca project on the go. 13 inch factory barrel, soon to be reparked.
Ithaca custom shop making for me a plain walnut butt stock with an 11.5inch L.O.P. recoil pad installed, & black company logo grip cap.
Should work out to about 31 inches overall. :)

Amended project for 12.5 LOP butt stock. The shorter one is much to Poppa Smurf-like for me.

This is my BOOM stick, 14" 870 clone with a side saddle and a new raptor grip....still legal @ 26 1/2" woo hoooooo.
anybody know where to get a cheap picatinny flashlight?

Nice ! I'd slap a one shot extension on that to maximize it's capability.

Some nice looking set ups here. Can definitely see how many of them are carried frequently in the bush as opposed to some of the obscene, impractical setups seen in the tactical pics thread.

My earlyish 2000's Rem 870 express mag. Police 14" barrel, police trigger group, police extractor, Scattergun 1 shot extension with upgraded mag spring and follower, jumbo safety, Magpul furniture and sling mount, Vickers sling w/2-1 point stud on sling, Inforce wml.

I've dragged this thing around with me all over the place on different bush adventures. It's had many incarnations, but I think I'm finally satisified. Just need it vang comp'd and refinished, except the bolt, I like some part of it to show it's hard use.

Another I thought looked cool. Was checking chamber before going to ground under my siltarp in the mountains last weekend. Thought it would make a good picture.

Side note: I carry the 870 condition 3 hammer down, but sleep condition 1. Leave it beside me on my ruck rain cover. My rational being, I fall, often.

Carry and sleep with my short 870 in same "conditions".

I prefer feel of the Hogue forend but am thinking of swapping out for the Magpul so I can put a flashlight on it. As you know the longer SG's can use a clamp mount but not so on the shorter ones.

What flashlight & mount are you using JDForBrkFst ? Looks nice and compact.

Nice pictures !

Madashell, it's a Inforce light on a pic rail. I actually recently swapped the rail out for a Magpul mlok offset mount. It's amazing.

I ran a Hogue for a long time too. I took a piece of Magpul pic rail and fit it to the forend by cutting the rubber out in the shape of the rail then mounting it through the plastic underneath.

The Magpul forend is definitely the best I've used of the several I've tried. If I get a chance I'll try and upload a pic with the offset mount.

Nice ! Thanks for the information. Yeah, guess I could mount a rail to the Hogue. Need an excuse to buy a Magpul though :)
