Sick of my lee decapping die, what's your favourite

I use a Harvey deprimer instead of a decapping die. It's a dedicated handheld tool made by a one-man shop in the States (Google it). As it is not a die, I can sit in front of the TV with a bucket of brass and a tray and deprime hundreds of rounds in a session. The pin in the tool is so strong that I will last multiple lifetimes, plus you can feel when you have a Berdan or other irregular case and not apply excessive force.

It's an amazing tool!

Great product and thanks for sharing info on the Harvey deprimer tool.

wow!
i always hated how dirty my press got from decapping. just ordered one of these. thanks :)

I have decapped thousands and thousands of cases, including IVi crimped. Never broken or bent a pin yet in the Lee FL sizer. I have no idea why my experience is different.

Agreed, I've broken one RCBS decapping pin about 5 years ago (it had come loose in the die so it was off centre). Since then I have not had an issue, also decapping/resizing thousands of crimped .223 brass.

The one thing I don't agree with is the coffee whitener. ;)

I have been reloading since the early 60's, and have broken exactly one decapping pin in that time.
Bent a few, but broken ones have been extremely rare. Dave.

Why torture yourself? Lol

I bought a few of those plastic shoe boxes from Home Depot for $0.99 to organize my brass

Mmmmmmm.... the shoe boxes below and the Costco Mango Salsa jugs on the top row. Good eatin's towards better storage.... .:d

I'm in the group that says there's something wacky with your press or the die or something that is not correctly centering the pins. And since it's the Lee die I'm guessing that you're buying the ones with the smooth metal shaft and the pressed in place pin. So when you snap off the pin and switch it is the shaft bent as well? Roll it on something smooth to see if it's bent. At any rate if the shaft is bent and the pin snapped off it means you're pushing something sideways in addition to straight down. So something is off center or has some angle to it. Check that the pin and holder shaft is centered in the die body for starters. If it's off center then that might explain it. You might have a bad die body or the collet nut is not made correctly centered.
