Side By Side Or Over & Under This Season?

I am a pretty hard core SxS guy, but this season so far have been enjoying a C.I.L. 1000 Super Field ( rebadged Franchi)
It is a 12 gauge , but VERY light and the chokes have been opened up to Imp.mod. from Mod/Full and the chambers lengthen with relieved forcing cones from 2 3/4" to 3".
However, when I head south for our annual pheasant hunt, you can bet my trusty SxS hammer double will be going with me, as always!

The big caveat there is " if the gun is within proof"!
Big difference between a modern SxS and say, my 1899 Westely Richards when it comes to proof testing , barrel thickness, etc. And steel shot!

I used to use O/U shotguns for all upland hunting, but about 10 years ago, I switched to English stocked SxS shotguns. I like the option of an instant choice of chokes, by having two triggers to choose from.
