?side mounts on a M98?

I've been cruising the tradeex website and notice that some of the commercail M98 FN actioned rifles keep mentioning that they are drilled for side mounts. Why would they all be side mounts I thought you could put regular top mounts on a commercial 98?

Man a nice 98 in 8mm with a 240 grain load calibrated for the iron sights and a196grain handload calibrated to a reliable removable type side mounted scope would be a heck of a great do anything rifle.

Why are those all drilled as such? Have to ask Tradeex.
