side saddle is too tight

well i thought about getting a solid mounted saddle but the pin issue came to mind thats why i decided to go velcro. im on the same page as you and i was planning on using some alcohol wipes and even a de greaser before that to get any gun oils and hand oils and such off then alcohol wipes and then ill velcro it on. ill see if i can find some heavy duty 3m velcro once i decide what im buying and ill use that instead. thanks for the suggestions. i honestly dont expect perfection form the red dot, more of an aesthetically pleasing kinda thing it wont be a precision shooter of any kind :)

alright so its done. i went to the hardware store. now 3/4 to 7/8 is only 1/8th difference. not that much. the 3/4 was loose inside of the saddle, the 7/8 wouldnt fit. so i got the 7/8 and heat gun molded it to the dowel. problem with that was that the shells were now loose in there. so i ended up using the heat gun and carefully tightening it back up again. its snug to the point where they wont fell out and it requires a little bit of force to remove them but no where near as bad as before. i forgot to put the vernier on the other one but ill do that this week just to give you guys an idea of how tight these bastards are.
