Anyone know where I can get them north of the border. My local retailer says their supplier won't have any (or much of anything else for that matter) until January. All I was able to get was a couple boxes of damned 174gr RN Hornadys. I hate Round Nose bullets, they feed like crap in my LEs, but I guess it beats buying factory.

Wholesale Sports lists their spitzers in 125, 150, and 180g and the HPBT 174g.

Curious. I have had no feeding nor other problems with round noses in my No.4s and No.5 and the Hornady 174g are my favourites. But I have used Sierras, 150g and 180g, and they work for me, too.

Tooner I know it has a lot to do with the feed lips on the magazine. I'm just not a big fan of adjusting them continually, also I find the feed ramp to the chamber is relatively steep and the RN bullets take more force to get them up over it. Just a personal choice I suppose.

Likewise. However my P-14 really doesn't like RN. Completely different action, of course. I picked up a Dayton-Traister Tru-Feed kit ages ago but haven't installed it.

I guess I've just been lucky with my magazines. The Hornady are .312 diameter and seem to give me slightly better accuracy in the No.4Mk2 that I use the most. But the Sierra, .311 diameter, have certainly been accurate enough for me - if I didn't find Hornady when I needed some, I'd buy Sierra without hesitation.

Cases are recycled from Remington UMC and Federal Classic factory ammo. Winchester primers, 41g of IMR4350. Next batch I'm going to try H4350.

That's a nice mid-sized load according to the Hornady manual. Do you use their COL of 2.95 or go longer?

I just followed the instructions that came with the Lee die set - maximum overall length 3.075 - it's mainly about cheap with me, as long as I'm getting accuracy enough for deer at up to 150m. For me, the biggest potential for improved accuracy lies in more shooting practise. My ammo has never been the critical limiting factor that my ability is.
