Sierra 6.5mm 150gr MK

Has anybody tried these bullets and if so, how did they perform? Sierra recommends a 7.5" twist, but I'm curious if anybody has tried them in an 8" twist.

They are very similar to the Matix 152 which we have a lot of experience with. They will shoot in a 1 in 8 twist very well and will be stable to 1400yards. It is that they will be better with a 7 1/2".

I get about 1 to 1 1/2" 5 shot groups at 300 meters with the 152 Matrix from a 1 in 8 but about half of that with a 1 in 7 1/2".

Testing the Matrix 152gr bullets in a 7 twist McGowen prefit... these 2 test loads were shot at 285yds.. group on the left is the low node... the right, high node and showing some pressure signs.



Right now, I would suggest a 7 twist for these slugs... More LR testing to follow when the smoke clears....

I've shot a few of them through a 8 twist 6.5 PRC, accuracy was good and the load wasn't fully tuned
