Wondering how many people use these bullets and their results with them.

They seem to have good reviews and their price point is almost impossible not to notice.

I'll be loading some up in my 6.5x55 soon at about 2300-2500 fps. Should be a perfect combo if they shoot well!

I havent shot anything living with them but they printed really good in my old Swedish Mauser....I was pushing them about 2650 fps btw. You can pm me for loading data if interested.

In a few of my rifles I'm going to Barnes but my go to bullet for accuracy, and on game in a couple of calibers, has been the Sierra GameKing and the SPT.

another dead horse topic. try a search. discussed ad nausium

I shot 3 bears and a mule deer with 150gr Gamekings out of my .270win. ranges 60 to 270yrds. every bullet exploded. was like a big Vmax. little pieces of lead everywhere. the animals died like they had been hit by lightening, but I was not impressed with the terminal performance.

I've used Sierra Gamekings in Federal Premium ammo in 25.06, 30.06 and 300 Win. for about 20 years, maybe more.

My 3 principle rifles all will group under inch using this factory ammo...and I've shot a number of groups in the 1/2" range.

Went 8 straight one shot kills on both whitetails and muleys, out to 250 yds, with my 25.06 and 117 gr. Sierra Gamekings. None of them went more than 30 yds, and most were DRT.

Did some of those come apart? Yep.

The one thing I will attest to is that they, at least so far, are the most consistently accurate bullets I've used.

And when scanning tables provided with most articles on handloading, Gamekings almost inevitably are among the tightest grouping.

only experience on game with a SGK was 6.5mm 140gr. 2600 fps @ muzzle, 250 yard shot on a mule deer. Bullet blew up and I found the jacket inside, 30% weight retention. Im glad I hit it behind the shoulder and not on the shoulder...deer dropped in its tracks btw

Accuracy was fantastic, and that's why I was using them

I've used them quite a bit on deer. 140gr out of a .280 going 3000 fps. I've seen a lot of "Bang-Flop" results with this combo. Once I was shooting across a deep coulee at a 4x4 mulie in SE Alberta. After the shot [230 yards] when I regained my sight picture after the recoil [what does that take... half a second?] all I saw was 4 feet in the air. Then the deer proceeded to roll to the bottom of the coulee. Made for a tough drag getting it out, but talk about DRT performace!

I'm using them in my 243 and now my 30-06. Good accuracy out of both of them and the price is right.

Sucks shooting paper for $1 a bullet so I switched. I dont have any issues with the SGK's.

I tried the 165 GK SBT in my 308. They shot alright. Nothing amazing, but fine for hunting. I prefer the Hornady SST's. They are still pretty cheap, but I found them to be far more accurate and consistent. As with everything bullet/rifle related- You have to experiment and find what works best in your rifle.

One of my sidekicks is quite happy blasting grizzly bears with his old .338 and 215 grain Sierras. I really want to tell him that his 5 grizzlies aren't really dead, and that in spite of carrying it up and down mountains, through the bush and generally poking around on 3 continents that his bullets won't kill anything. Somehow I don't think he's gonna listen.;)

I love them, but you can't push them too fast or they will come apart, like any traditional cup-and-core bullet will. I too find them very accurate, but like others have mentioned, push them past about 2500 fps and they will shed weight pretty quickly. My .250 Savage loves them, but every deer I've shot with them wouldn't tell me if they liked them or not.

I use them all calibers they all have exceptional accuracy and terminal performance. I have yet to have one come apart though. Between my dad and I we have been using them for over 20 years.

As I made reference to in post #3, I've always been more than pleased with the accuracy results and haven't had too much problem putting game down with them. My reason behind changing to Barnes TTSX as my hunting bullet of choice is the graphic difference in meat loss on my last Mule Deer draw hunt in AB. My Daughter & I each got our buck, hit in almost the same spot with very similar calibers. I was using 200gr Sierra SBT's and she was using 180gr Barnes TTSX.

My buddy shot a bull moose last year with 150 gr Gamekings out of a .270, hit it twice in the vital area. 2 more moose were also harvested within my hunt group and they were shot with core lokt and power points. No Jelly like substance on the moose shot with the Gamekings a day after when it was hanging. We wasted more meat from the other two moose cause of damage from fragmenting bullets. Game kings work much better than Power Points or Core Lokt's imo.

there a good bullet but deformation of the lead nose makes them drift at long ranges.
i thinks the outer jacket is a little light, my 30-06 peels them apart at high velocities.

I've used the 250gr SGK bullets in 338win to take several mule and white tail deer and they work well. I must get around to shooting a moose with them and see how that goes.
