Sig 1911-22 wont hold hammer back plz help

Hey guys im really hoping someone can help me with this. I have a sig 1911-22 i had taken apart to paint the slide and frame with armacoat which by the way is the ####, best paint ever! Anyhow so while the pistol was apart i desided to so a slight polish on the internal parts triger sears etc nothin to crazy. When i put it all back together i went to check it, and now when i rack the slide back the hammer wont stay cocked back it just falls forward, but if u hold the hammer back and jiggle the triger abit then it catches and will hold the hammer back. Has anyone had this problem, or kno anyone i could talk to to help fix this problem.

Sounds like the sear & the hammer are not making proper contact. For the hammer not to stay cocked would
indicate no contact at all. If you can initiate contact by jiggling the trigger my guess would
be that something is either broken inside or not put back together properly. Perhaps the trigger
return spring is not in place ??
I would suggest taking it apart , inspect the parts for damage & put it back together making 100% sure that all the parts are
in place and working as designed. It that does not fix the problem then perhaps the slight polish
to the trigger and sear was more than " slight " in which case take it to a gunsmith.
Considering the potential issues with a malfunctioning trigger/sear assembly, a gunsmith would
probably be the best idea .
 
If you buggered the sear or hammer hook angles those parts will be junk now. Possibly you didn't reassemble it correctly. Sear spring not sitting on the sear properly will do that.
 
Mmmk i guess ill take it apart again and take a good look an assemble it again thanks if that does t work off to a gunsmith it goes
 
ok so i think i figured out what my issue was. i took apart my pistol and looked at the blown up diagram in the sig manual and everything i put in looked exactly the way it should be watched some youtube clips and yup had everything in the right way, but when i was assembling the pistol i figured that the last time i had put it back together i had the hammer down when i put the safety thumb levers in. and if u notice the left side thumb safety has a kinda cam on it, it must do something with the sear etc ,anyhow when i put it back together i had the hammer in the cocked position and then installed the thumb safety and payed close attention to the main spring and well so far so good. the hammer will stay cocked when you rack the slide. now just have to go test at the range. thanks for the vids and all the input i appreciate it.
