Thinking what my first 22 pistol will be
these are reasonable at under 450
Are they any good ,,all i here is sig wow
but usually the price tag keeps me from thinking about one
but this one i could afford makes me wonder if they are junk
cheers

I don't believe this pistol is a true Sig, but just a remarketed model by someone else.

on the flip side, the P226 in 22LR is the real deal. bonus is you can buy the kit that will upgrade you to 9mm as well so you get 2in1. :)

the Sig 1911-22 is the same gun as the GSG 1911-22.
both are made by GSG.

ive got the Sig one and my dad has the GSG one, they are identical in every way except price, usually you can find the GSG is lower priced.

ive got no complaints about the gun, nice little 22

think ive got some pics in my photobucket from when i compared mine to my dads a couple years ago.

It has nothing to do with Sig Sauer except the name. This is a re-branded GSG 1911 .22cal. Produced by German Sport Guns in Ense, Germany.
Having said that I bought a GSG 1911 a couple months ago. Right away I also purchased the ZRTS Ultimate Performance Package from Blue Line Solutions and replaced some parts with the parts in the package like a full length guide rod, slide alignment cone (SAC), bushing, spring & plug. It shoots like a target pistol now. It shoots most 22LR brands without any problem.
A great advantage of the GSG 1911 22/Sig 1911 22 is availability of parts. Blue Line Solutions have all spare parts you can imagine and more.

I have the SIG and my brother has the GSG, yes both GSGs of course. Just look at the finishing on the two and the SIG is nicer. These two, others claim different with their two samples. Personally I'd opt for neither and get an M&P 22.

I played with one at the range the other day. It's the rebranded gsg. Isn't ultra accurate with mini mags, but I'd think it would make a great first pistol. I'm either getting that or a 22 revolver for my second handgun.

I have a Sig 1911 and M&P 22. Neither is overbuilt so I'm wondering how long they will really last. Both work well but the M&P is easier to disassemble and clean so it goes to the range most days. It is tons of fun.

If you are going to get involved with pistols a Sig P226 with a .22 conversion kit is fantastic. I know it's not a cheap starter package but shooting .22 from a .40 (or similar) frame is a great place to get comfortable.

Further to my post.
A few videos on the performance of the GSG 1911-22/Sig Sauer 1911-22. One video shows the pistol after 30,000 rounds! Still shooting very well. The only weak point on the GSG/Sig 1911 is the finish which sometimes wears out quite fast. Otherwise, one of the best 22cal pistols on the market. Same size as a regular Colt 1911 and quite similar weight. Interchangeable parts. Very easy to take down and clean.

I’d like to add that starting from 2014 production year the GSG 1911-22/Sig Sauer 1911-22 are quite improved with a number of hardened STEEL inserts added wherever it’s necessary in the construction. Mine is a 2015 production batch.

Pretty sure you're going to live it...congrats....break it in with high velocity .22.....then if it's like mine, just buy boxes and boxes of federal 525 bulk...

Aren't they all just GSG's under the hood?

Love my GSG. Runs Fed bulk and Win bulk just fine. Run them wet.

Sure they are. Produced by German Sport Guns. That's what I said in my previous post. My GSG 1911 with the ZRTS Performance Package eats every ammo without a hiccup.
Having said that the better choice is the Grand Power K22S which I bought a month ago. For the price the best 22LR semi-auto pistol on the market.

i guess the recoil buffer is a no brainer but do you need the little washer switched over as well

No, you don't need that little washer. Just the red (teflon?) recoil buffer: http://blsolutions.ca/gsg-1911-22-buffer/. It's $7.99 at Blue Solutions under the ZRTS accesories.

P.S. You don't need a small barrel set up screw either! After installing the ZRTS package do not screw it in again! It's now redundant.
