Sig 1911-22?

I ordered the Sig 1911-22 in FDE. No delivery time stated and about 120 bucks more than a readily available GSG. I know it makes absolutely no sense but that's the one my boy wanted and since he'll be shooing it the most I figured why not! Looking forward to the email telling me it's arrived. I just hope it's here before summer...w:h:.

GSG have a lot of plastic, sights, mainspring housing, etc. Sigs are all metal much nicer gun, worth the extra cash.

Go another step further up the ladder Kimber's are real nice.

based on the sig pic, its exactly the same as the GSG including sights and MSH, minus grips and brand marking

I also thought the only difference was the grips and Sig stamp. Didn't know the internals were different and sights were metal. I guess in that case, it's worth the extra cash. The plastic sights were the only thing I was going to change on the two I had.

YES THESE PICS ARE HUGE

compare everything closely, markings and grips are only difference

The sights are not metal, based on a pic of the sig

Just picked up the GSG the other day, haven't had chance to try it out, or strip it down to clean, from what I found on line its identical to the Sig not surprising as GSG is the sister company to Sig, if I am not mistaken I think I read somewhere that the CEO's are brothers??? Anyway I am new to the handguns the GSG being my 1st (paid $490.00 taxes in with 2nd mag), it has a solid feel and appears to be well built, time will tell.............

Seems like a good in expensive platform for myself and my son to get range time with before I get into the larger calibers .........

I don't know if Id say Kimbers are a step up from sigs. In fact i think most people will disagree with that statement completely. I have both a kimber and a sig so im not biased one way or another.:p

Just bought my GSG today at Wanstalls in Maple Ridge. They also had the Sig and the Colt .22 I looked at all three and couldn't justify the $100 and $200 price difference between them
