I'm new here, if this has come up before and been well addressed could someone find me the link, otherwise...
I've looked at this and obviously the GSG 1911 .22LR, been told that they are the exact same but GSG is cheaper. I've heard/seen lots of reports of issues with the GSG, but I like the 1911 in .22LR and am looking for my first pistol to shoot. I guess the question is, does any one know if the SIG is any better because it's got a different and more expensive name on it or am I going to run into the same issues that are out there on the GSG? I was looking at Questar, they say that they have factory trained armourers so am I getting a reliable gun from them if I purchase from them, I would hope that they are not selling a sub par item if there are known deficiencies!
This is actually my second choice in a firearm as i really want a P226 in .22LR but finding it is tough. I was told that there is a conversion kit on EE but I'm not approved to see those posts yet...
lastly, I know that this is almost a useless question as there are thousands of right answers available but if i went the P226/220 route and purchased a .22lr conversion, what caliber should I go with? Does it really matter? 9mm, .40, .45?
Thanks all, I know there is great advice out here, excited to see what pops up!
