Glad to read this, sorry it had to happen to you.
I'll be using strictly handloads in my sig, something happens it's on me, may as well save a few bucks and load what I want.

This. Unless Loto phoned, for most of us who shoot a lot, reloading is the only option. I roll it, I own it. Works for most of us,

Take Care

Bob

Buy STI.

I've cracked a slide and and a broken 2 barrels (at the lug). All hand loaded ammunition. All repairs/replacements without cost to me.

Really !! That is good know, good on them I am leaning more and more towrds one as one of the guys helping with the bb coarse I am doing had one and let us try it. It shot amazing

Okay so the importer/distributor doesn't want to back their product. Contact SIG. You were using factory made ammunition, contact SIG. Contact SIG they warranty the gun for use with factory ammunition, did SIG or the importer specially state that the warranty was void is imported factory ammunition was used? I doubt it, contact SIG. The gun may have made it out of the factory with a missed fracture or improperly heat treated slide, but regardless, contact SIG. I would wager that you will get some satisfaction from SIG.

If you blew a tire on a pothole and trashed the front suspension in the process, would the car manufacturer consider that a warranty repair?

Just to be clear....Is MDC refusing to repair the gun at all or just refusing to repair it for free under warranty?...... If the latter I'm not sure how damage caused by faulty ammo could be considered a warranty item.

I'm trying to put myself in MDC's shoes. I've only had one similar call, where a gun suffered damage that wasn't covered by warranty. As long as the customer is not breathing fire during the conversation, I'd repair the gun for my landed costs for the parts. If the ammo manufacturer or importer were going to make good on those costs, the customer would at least have a working gun and an invoice for the costs he'd paid.

Unless the road included potholes when it was newly paved this is not the same situation at all. He fired the gun with factory ammo which the gun manufacturer insists on. Unless they specifically require only certain brands of ammo (which I've never seen) he's got a legitimate gripe.
