Sig 1911 external extractor / spare parts

Hey out there.

For those who have Sig 1911's or any other with an external extractor. I am looking for spare parts to keep on hand. Is the external extractor standard across all makes that are equipped with one?
While I'm here - I am new to the 1911's - what would anyone recommend as a good spare parts inventory?

I wanted a spare as well for my Sig 1911 and EGW was authorized to make the Sig replacement extractors but they won't ship to Canada. GRRRR!
 
Oh, just remembered, EGW did give me the name of a dealer who ships internationally all the time. I'll see if I can dig out the email.

I contacted the referral and he pointed out that the folks at Double Tap should be able to get them. I contacted Double Tap and he said he's working on bringing some in. Not sure how long that's going to take but I'm in no rush for a replacement.... yet. Knock on wood.
 
The contact I got from EGW was that w ww.henningshootsguns.com but I contacted them and they said they don't carry the part and that I should contact Josko at Double Tap in Canada. I contacted Josko and he said he was working on it but never heard about it after that. I just noticed that Prophet River is an EGW dealer now. Maybe they can special order the part on their next order.
 
wow, it seems like if that one part fails on a sig, it'll be a NICE lookin' paperweight... maybe I should take my slide apart and get a local machine shop custom-make me a dozen replacements, if they have a duplicating machine/jig like those key cutters at crappy tire.
 
Same info I got from EGW .....

I will contact Double Tap and PP for this part as well.

Another option is to go with SIG OEM ..... Vault Distribution can get it for us but we need to go thru our LGS here in the Vancouver area. Vault does not deal with retail sales.
