I'm thinking of getting a first 1911, new, in 9 mm with target sights, and looking at the SIG Match Elite (retails for $1300 locally). Any thoughts or recommendations? For old style target shooting only, not IPSIC etc. I have not had the opportunity to fire the SIG, but have fired other 1911s and like the platform. At the gun store counter it looks and feels great, tho the trigger seems slightly heavy. In handgun I mainly shoot 2 Smiths, an old Model 41 (22LR) and even older K38 (38 Spl) so have been a bit spoiled by their light triggers. I'm a decent but not-great shot and don't deserve a really high end model. Thanks in advance.

I bought one late last year. Overall very good. Tight and well built. Just two things I don’t like. Stock trigger is 6.5 lb but after full disassembled and polish I made it to 2.5lb. The front sight is .125 wide with a big white dot, to me it’s very difficult for target shooting. Ordered the Dawson .100 plain black front sight and now waiting. The best shoot I have so far is 1.8” group with 10 shots at 10yd but most of the time I have one or two flier. Hopefully the new sight can help.
