Narrowed it down to one of these two, which one do you recommend? I won't be hitting the circuit just local range stuff with the guys. Talking 9mm here. Thanks.

Both different platforms. The SIG is SA only, the CZ is DA/SA. Both are good for what they are. The CZ is easier to strip and re-assemble. The SIG will have more aftermarket parts now but the 2 will catch up soon. The 2 is brand new so the reliability issue is still in the air, although being a CZ, I don't see many problems arising.
The best answer is try both in your hands and see which one feels better. Or, as most here will say, GET BOTH!
Everyone needs to own a 1911 at least once in their lives!

I have a SIG 1911 in .45 and love it, the SIG 1911 9mm would look great along side of it but's it's not available locally and the CZ Shadow 2 is. I think some of the guys are shooting the CZ with hammer back and safety on, that would be my choice.
Probably try the CZ and if am not happy I'll get my LGD to bring one in. I wish the SIG 9mm came with 10 shot mags. Thanks for your input.

Well! Didn't know you already have a SIG 1911! In that case, I agree! Go with the CZ. Novelty value as a new, in demand, gun.
10 rd mag. And cheaper to shoot 9mm than .45.
My personal theory is, if you can afford it, buy as many varieties of guns/ actions as you can before getting the same model again. That way, you have experience with different platforms and can teach newbies when the occasion should arise.

You need to decide on a caliber first and than a platform. Consider your ammo budget, what other guns you have and go form there. If you're just starting out it feels like you're a kid in a candy store. Once you get to try out a bunch you'll know what works for you

This is based purely on aesthetics, but I don't think there are many better looking guns than Sig's stainless 1911 offerings, particularly the ones with rosewood grips. For that reason though I'm voting for the Sig, lol.

I'd go Cz...I liked my sig 1911 .45...but honestly didn't blow me away...I always preferred shooting my sti..still have that...the sig is nice to look at and well built...it was just a little 'meh' for me...although a 9mm would be nice

Find a CZ New Edition. Best looking CZ in the stable. You will shoot it just as good as the Shadow2 and have about $400 to spend on ammo in the bargain.

That is the way I would go...opps that is what I did. :)

Take Care

Bob

I placed a order for the CZ Shadow 2 I'll report back after I've given it a range workout, Thanks to all that replied. The SIG 1911 in 9mm still could end up in the stable if the CZ don't meet my expectations.
