SIG 1911's

The general consensus seems to be that they are not that great. There were a lot of issues with them when they were released and I don't know of they've been resolved.

I have both GSR and P220. They both shoot great; however build quality of GSR does not match P220.

GSR was pretty loose and rattled from day one. You can also see tool marks on both frame and a slide.

P220 on the other hand is perfect - fit, finish attention to detail.

Again they both are great shooters despite GSRs quality issues.

I think that for the money you can do better with other 1911s.

I bought my GSR just over a year ago and had several of the problems that they are known for. The problems were easy to address except for the poor service from SIG HQ in the states. It took them 7 months to send me a new extractor that was under warranty. The GSR is a tack driver now and is my favorite pistol but for the price it was not worth all the extra effort to make it work right and to have to wait for slow service. My struggles with SIG representatives on both sides of the border (but mostly USA) has turned me off the brand.
