SIG 220 45 ACP feeding Flat point bullets

I finally got my Sig 220 elite dark.
It feeds 230 g FMJ with no problem. I had reloaded about 500 rounds of 200g flat nose frontier bullets that won't feed in the Sig magazine. It seems the form of the flat point does not feed into (or out of) the magazine lips.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had some issues with lead flat point bullets feeding in my P220, but I wasn't sure if it was the flat point that was causing the problem. Like you, round nose FMJ's are no problem.
 
I had an old school German made P220 for quite a few years, and it never seemed to care what it ate.

Maybe check your cartridge OAL? Maybe too short (or too long)?

Just a thought.
 
When you say flat nose, I suspect that you are meaning Semi-wadcutters (SWC), cast 200gr SWC work fine in my 220, try adjusting the OAL.
