Sig 220

They should be available...i don't think they are any longer avaiable in 9mm or .38 but a .45 ACP should be no problemo. Most people are after the 226 in 9 or .40 S&W...works to your advantage if the demand doesn't drive the price AS HIGH for the P220.

Frozen Snake, I would rent and shoot the P220 before buying one. Why? I owned one, shot it well, I never cared about it, and i sold it. I came to the conclusion that I like 1911s that much better. Regards, Richard :D

Very happy with my P220R DAK two-tone, accurate with a excellent trigger that is very easy to master, priced very reasonably, plenty of factory and after-market goods, holsters are also readily availabe, mine come with the factory night sights, and you should be able to score one from TSE or another dealer.

The grip on the P220 .45ACP is perceptively 'smaller' than a P226's grip, which makes the reach to the trigger for a DA first shot on my P220 more manageable. It is different enough that I sold my P226 .40cal.
The P220 .45ACP has been referred to as the Cadillac of .45ACP pistols. You can find Factory Refurb'd P220's in the red boxes for sale in most gunshops that stock pistols, and they usually run around $899. They are LNIB and are a very good deal. They come with 8rnd mags, but factory 10rnd mags are available if you need more than 8 rounds of .45ACP in your mags.

I had one, a 9mm. P220's stock definitely feels slimmer than P226's. But the double-action trigger reach is still hella long for my taste.

Never warmed to it. I pretty much did what Mr. Oldfield did, for the same reason.

When you are called Mr. Oldfield by a Kindly Old Coach, you know you are old:dancingbanana: Regards, Richard:D

My P220 was the most accurate pistol I have ever owned. Of course that was many years ago when my eyes worked.
It is so boringly great I sold mine too and went back to 1911's.
If I was allowed to carry it would be a P220 or a Glock 19.
