SIG 226 .22lr Conversion Kits?

I have 3 of these, one on a P226, one on a P229, and one on a P220. The P220 kit only works on the .45 acp .220, don't bother if you have the 9mm. No problems with any of them. My P226 kit is unmarked, it has no model on the slide. I saw another one like it, used at a local gun shop. A few other guys report that these "unmarked" ones seem trouble free. Mine certainly has been. All 3 kits bought used off the EE, widely varied ammo.

Of course bad ammo that will not go bang won't work in any pistol, I have had a few different brands of that. If it goes bang, no FTE and good accuracy.

I do like how the CZ Kadet kit locks open on empty, and is solid steel.

There was a SIG kit sold in Germany that was solid steel (like the P210s) and had steel mags which locked the slide back on empty. I can't seem to find any information about those. I'm sure they would be pricey, but probably worth it!

Wow thanks for all the user input. It seems like the consensus is as long as you use high velocity ammo it should run fine. I'm probably going to need to really think if this is something I need. I want to be a more accurate pistol shooter and I've probably put close to 600 rounds of 9mm through my Sig but I'm still not getting consistent groups. I know I would be shooting much more if 9mm was as cheap as 22lr. Maybe the best way is to find a used Ruger MK II on ee and go from there.

Although I did see that cabelas.ca has the sig .22 kit for $260 which is a killer deal but its on backorder only. Not too sure about the Canadian Cabela's reputation either...

I had some initial FTE with my kit. Polished the feeding ramp and the kit ran like a charm. Used federal bulk packs and had no issues. Had to clean around 500 rounds.

I have the 229 conversion on my 226 and shoot nothing but thunderbolts out of it. I also have a ruger 22/24, that hasnt been used since I got the kit. I have about 2K rounds through it with no stoppages. I would recommend it with out question.
