If you like the Sig mags that's good. After using the MecGar I couldn't go back and got them direct by phone from Mecgar in less than a week to my door.

I kept getting the, 'You need to speak with a dealer in your area. We don't ship direct to Canada'.

Get the elite, you get a very nice beavertail. Everything else is the same with the blackwater except you have to buy some more mags.

JUST GOT MINE!!!! Can't wait to try it out. It looks amazing and the wooden grips are very comfortable.

MecGar is the OEM supplier of Sig mags and has been for a couple of years. So to say that they are better than Sig mags doesen't really make much sense.
My latest 229 (Apr.08 build date) came with the "solid" mags but I don't see that they are a vast improvement as I have never had any of the "old" ones fail.
