Ok, so it's not really a sig, it's an NP-22. The firing pin no longer accomplishes it's task of hitting the primer. I can't tell if it's broken or jammed, but I'm assuming it's broken because when I push on the firing pin on the back I can feel it moving forward, it just doesn't protrude.

Question is is replacing a firing pin something I can do with a couple of punches and a lot of swearing? And if so, does anyone have a guide/pictures

thanks

Well first i think you should verify if the firing pin is actually ''broken'' as you claim. Pushing it from the end is not suppose to make it protrude as it has a firing pin safety such that only the trigger will release it. This is why you decock with the decocker lever and not manually hammer it down(because it is safer)

What do the primers look like when it doesn't go bang? Or try the snap caps, what do those look like?

I've tried it with the firing pin safety engaged, it's definately broken.

The primers don't look anything when it doesn't go bang, because the pin isn't making it that far :D

all you need is a 1/8 roll pin punch from can tire and knock the roll pins(inner and outer) out of the slide,
(that will remove the breech block from the slide and allow you to remove the firing pin).
be sure to keep the roll pin punch in the hole flip the slide into the vertical position(ejection port up)
remove the punch and lift the slide off of the breech block.
next remove the firing pin safety plunger(slide it sideways) and its spring while holding the firing pin(or it will fly out).
The firing pin will have its spring on the end of it and you should be able to determine the problem.
I don't know if the sig part will fit in there or not. I changed all of the pins/springs on my SIG 226 with an instructional DVD $25 and the cost of the parts from brownells. It is a good investment because it will allow you to disassemble the entire pistol. If you have any questions please let me know and I will help as best I can.Be sure that your norc has the internal extractor if it does this will work.
