Sig 226 intron vs mk25

I am on the fence about whether to get the nitron 226 or the mk 25
Internal coating aside.
The mk have the picatinny rail—- nitron the sig rail- no biggie
Mk has 2 piece old grip —— nitron the new e grips - no biggie
Look like the mk 25 has the short extractor and the nitron the long.?
So it seems the big mechanical difference is the extractor
The long extractor is newer but all the 320 have the short
What the deal. Is one better?
Looks like disassembly of the long extractor is a pain

Also what has got better resale.?
I cAn not find a gun store in Vancouver that has both to compare the grips.

Any suggestion ? Help?
 
Only really sensible to get the Mk25 if you specifically want the Navy P226 or the picatinny rail. Beyond that they're both pretty equal on resale value (like most Sigs) and reliability. Long, short, and internal extractors all perform the same.

Find a deal on any of them and get the SRT kit to throw in.
 
I hear issues about the e2 grip coming loose?
Is that a thing?
Anything that fits a picatinny that won’t fit the sig rail?
In my heart I know I should get both��

Soo hard to find stock in Vancouver no one even has the mk25
The price difference from on store to another can be 200$

I have worked on hundreds of SIGs and never heard or seen a E2 grip come loose.

MK25 is a salt water gun and a waist of money. Go with the standard p226, it’s good enough for the SAS :p

As above, E2 grips are solid, and picatinny rail vs Sig rail is a moot point as they both fit the same stuff.

Use that difference in price (check the EE) and get some parts like SRT and sights if you desire.
 
My P226 Enhanced Elite has the E2 grips. They hold on firmly.

I have never heard anyone reference the E2 grips coming loose until reading this post, but I guess if you look long and hard, you will read anything at least once in the internet.
 
Go with the cheapest one you can get, I would go used, mk25 is alot of crap you dont need, unless your a military contractor. The e2 grip is nice but to small for me. Sig 226 are way over priced, as it is.
 
Mk25 comes with 3 mags instead of 2 so thats 70 bucks right there.
When i bought mine it came to about $100 over the regular p226 so that was a no brainer.

Put in the sig SRT kit and its a hell of a good shooter
 
From experience. Only time it will come loose is because after removing and assembling. You did not torque/tight enough. After couple hundred rounds can come loose but you should always take a screwdriver and just give them a twist. Its not just p226. Any pistol with grips that have been put on should be my 1911s are the same. End all be all. Nothing to worry about about grips coming loose

I have new version of p226 elite stainless and p226 elite scorpion. Amazing triggers. The higher the round count. The smoother the trigger.
 
If anything, the E2 grips are hard enough to remove that Sig includes a tool to do it.

If I had to guess, the only way they would come off is if user pulled them off and didn't replace them properly.
 
When i got my mk25 it was a 100 bucks premium over the regular 226. Considering that it comes with 3 mags instead of 2 and the mags are 70 bucks, i was paying and extra 30 for the anchor and coating. It was a no brainer.
I put in the sig SRT kit in it and its a fine gun.
 
Purchase a std nitron P226 & upgrade it-

GGI dual adj flat or curved trigger lever
SIG ShortReseT sear w/ long firing pin safety lever
SIGLite XRay3 sights
grip panels of choice(other than E2's)

The Mk25 & Legions are marketing hype.
The SIG P Series SAO trigger w/safety blocking the trigger bar only...suck for take up & reset.

I much prefer the traditional DA?SA over the SAO,DAO or DAK systems.

I'd go for one 100% made in Germany with short extractor....FYI is one for sale on EE right now.
SIG factory in Germany will close soon and you'll never get one of the originals.
 
I had the same dilemma when I bought my 226. I went with the regular nitron 226 with E2 grips cause I was able to fin one on the EE For $700 with 4 mags. All the navys at the time were going for a few hundred more. It was a no brainer.
Just buy the cheapest one you can find and spend the extra money on ammo and shoot the piss out of it.
 
And just to be the dissenting voice of reason...if you can find a good SS Elite, get that instead. I like them so much, I had to get one in P229, a couple P226, and managed to get the hard to find P220....a bit of a premium on them, but having had the standard nitron, E2 Elite (which I really liked but my nephew wanted)...and an Equinox P220 which I still have....the SS elite ticks off all the boxes. You won't wear it out any time soon.

I wear a large glove, and use e2 grip...but It might make trigger reach not long enough, but I shoot it well, I shoot the 320 better, but the basic nitron 226 works well for me, 5000 plus rounds. i still think sigs are overpriced. good luck

Which "other" manufactured pistols are capable of being rebuilt in 20 minutes?

Which "other" manufactured pistols are capable of 3 to 4 Cal X Change Kit options for P220's,226's,227's,228's,229's....by rotating the Take Down Lever...none.
