Hi everyone as a recent Sig 226 owner I am just wondering what everyone user as grease in there Sig ? Do you follow the manauls instruction and use TW25b or do you prefer something else and can you explain why and where you purchase it. I am just looking for other option that are as good or better than TW25b but that I can find locally. I am in Ontario

The combo of TW25 for internals and Light or Medium Slide Glide for the rails works really well for me. I found that the TW25 was a little too "light duty" for extended range sessions where as the Slide Glide seemed to last longer and provided better protection for the rails.

I use the tw25b grease, mc 2500 oil(both products are from mill comm), clp for cleaner. I also use hoppes solvent for the occasional barrel cleaning, along with the hoppes copper solvent.

I've put 350+ rounds through the 229 in back to back range days, without a cleaning. When I went to clean the pistol it still had grease slathered all over the rails. I grease the rails heavily. Got my stuff from williams arms in port perry, call and they'll ship out.

Don't forget to lube under your grips as well, plenty of parts in need of oil.

need to go up to Williams and have a look. Thanks for the info will look into slide gluide as well as it sounds interesting.

Skip the commercial stuff. I've been using a combination of high temp wheel bearing grease and synthetic 10w30 for years and it yields better performance than any "firearm" labeled product I've used, and I've used a lot.

Lubriplate 105 engine assembly lube is a white, grade 0 grease that is similar to TW-25B. I bought a 10oz squeeze tube of it for about $10 at Auto Value.
