SIG 229 R ...advice needed ASAP

wow i LOOOOOOVE the p229s, personally, alot more than the classic 220. the 229s are compact and very sturdy. they just look solid (but then again all sigs are solid).

sigs are known to be one of hte most popular and reliable brands. if you need repairing or parts to replace, you definitely wont have a problem find either.

you'll be very happy with ur new 229. the only problem is, if u have small hands or a small trigger finger, u might find it abit uncomfortable.

Ok, UPDATE!

I am UBER pissed about a private Sig 229 R deal that was supposed to go thru. In any point, I might as well buy from Questar. I did hold a 226 R and a 229 R. I guess I am back to deciding which model to get in 9mm. I prefer to offer my business to a CGN sponsor such as Questar who takes care of their customers.

It will be used at the range , with any luck at IDPA night and the occasional match.

I am tired of this affair, I have researched this over and over and over...well you get th e idea. Since I am 6'4" and have large hands, both the Sig 226 R & 229 R fit well.

CAN THE CGN COMMUNITY JUST TELL ME WHAT SIG TO GET?
 
Get them both, shoot them both, give the one you dont like to your wife/girl friend and if she does not like it then sell on EE. As its personal preference you're really the person that should make the decision.

And because the question had to be asked - if know little about SIGs or cant decide between them, why set on SIG? (i.e. SP01 Shadow, G34, both a fair bit cheaper and also quite good)

Thanks for the response, I have the Glocks...um, not my cup of tea, I have my Glocks for sale on the EE now. As a moderate handgun shooter, I am purchasing a DA/SA to round out my handgun collection. I am steering away from the polymer frames, I like the feel of steel or aluminum and to fulfill the CDI factor, its gotta have a rail. (although I will never use it, the fact that its there anyways is a selling factor)

I am more of a semi-auto shooter, revolvers have their place but not in my costco gunsafe. I wanted a highly accurate DA/SA reliable 9mm and dont mind paying a little extra now should this be my last handgun. Thus a Sig. Also logistical support in Canada is important, seems like Questar and gunsmiths at TSE are around to fulfill this role.
(I had a problem with a H&K USP and vowed never again to get one, the de-cocker was damaged after a hard fall on concrete and getting another one was actually quite difficult)

Both Sigs fit my hand, however I have shot the 226 before but not the 229 .

The spouse has her Glocks and supports this purchase either way. I am lucky !

Sig P229.

1. It's a more 'size efficient gun' considering neutered mags. Less 'unused' mag space.

2. More compact.
3. It's one of the few extended barrel compacts that doesn't look to bad...P99 and glock 19 are others like that. I love p2000 but barrel sticks out a lot.

4. Solid steel slide.
