I have just purchased a Sig 229r and love the pistol. My hands are about average size but I still find the trigger reach a bit long.Has anyone changed out the regular trigger for the short trigger ? Was it worth it ? I would hate to go to the trouble of changing it out and not really feel any difference.

Thanks

I found that i like the short trigger quite a bit more and seem to be more accurate with it. However I can't recall how much it affected the reach of the trigger. The short trigger is just thinner, so it may give you 1/2 a cm (if that) less reach.

It is significantly thinner. I have an "average" size hand and when i install the short trigger, the tip of my finger hits the frame and won't allow me to complete the trigger stroke. It appears thinner and is set back more. I know of persons with the short trigger and it works well for them....
if you can have a normal grip on the 229 and the forward facing rh edge of the trigger (rh shooter) is engaging the bend in your knuckle, then leave the trigger be. If thats not the case and your shots are pushing to the left (as a right handed shooter) then get it changed.
